SRTC trainee scholarship applications
are assessed based on multiple criteria.
Students are graded based on their
probability of success during training,
the overall desirability of the candidate,
and the likelihood that they will be
able to succeed as skin researchers in
the future.
Applicants are graded according
to the category to which they apply – Postdoctoral
or clinical Fellow, MSc graduate student,
or PhD
graduate student. Each applicant is given
a global score by each committee member
according to the scale below,
which is then averaged into one
composite score.
Scores are then discussed at a CIHR-SRTC
committee meeting to determine the acceptability
of the grades awarded to each of the
applicants. A final decision on the scholarship
award is made based on fund availability
and the confirmed scores awarded to each
applicant.
