Practical skills: application

On successful completion of the SRTC curriculum, scholars will be able to:

  1. Effectively convey ideas and information for different professional and academic audiences.
  2. Effectively convey information on skin disorders to patients and the general public.
  3. Employ appropriate information technology skills in order to determine skin disease trends.
  4. Use web-creation tools to produce an interactive web site in aspects of skin disease.
  5. Use powerpoint software to produce effective slides and posters for data dissemination.
  6. Use the Canadian common CV format web site for development of professional CVs.
  7. Be able to conduct laboratory research procedures pertinent to their field of research specialization, or,
  8. Be able to conduct patient evaluation investigations.

Key/transferable skills

On successful completion of the SRTC curriculum, students will be able to:

  1. Work effectively as part of a team.
  2. Reflectively evaluate their own learning and personal planning processes.
  3. Explain personal future roles in skin research and disease treatment in Canada.
  4. Prioritize skin research development objectives for themselves in their learning plan.
  5. Utilize knowledge gained for development and completion of their advanced research project.
