For classes, SRTC scholars will be assessed
on their ability to:
- Attend classes and demonstrate professional
and accountable behaviour towards classmates
and group in the event of an absence.
- Prepare for class by participating
in pre-readings and discussions.
- Ask questions in class which foster
group learning.
- Encourage an
inclusive learning atmosphere for
all SRTC scholars.
For written assignments SRTC scholars
will be assessed on their ability to:
- Demonstrate knowledge on skin research
topics.
- Convey information in a structured
and efficient manner.
- Demonstrate
critical thinking about clinical
and research issues
in dermatology.
- Develop research
hypotheses and explain the reasoning
behind
hypothesis
development.
For skin research portfolio development,
SRTC scholars will be assessed on their
ability to:
- Develop a research program with strong
hypotheses and a methodological approach
to providing experimental research
data in support of the hypotheses.
- Present their research
findings locally, nationally, and and
internationally at workshops, meetings,
and conferences.
- Publish data in recognized
medical journals, books, popular
interest publications, and web sites
for dermatology patients
and the general public.
- Reflect on experimental research
and its intersection with patient
care
by journaling about interactions
and emotions felt or expressed when
working
with patients.
- Maintain of journal
reflections on personal and professional
development.
