of Medicine provides excellence in
research, teaching and clinical services
related to the nature, cause and prevention
of adult diseases. It is the largest
Department in the Faculty of Medicine
and consisting of 17 different divisions.
Experimental Medicine: UBC Department
of Medicine has an active research program
with investigators conducting research
in all experimental aspects of medicine.
The Department and Faculty originated
and developed the Experimental Medicine
Program for graduate studies in
Experimental Medicine.

Coastal Health Research Institute:
VCHRI is
one of four Vancouver hospital-based
research institutes affiliated with UBC (Providence
Health Care Research Institute (PHCRI) at St. Paul’s Hospital, The Child and
Family Research Institute
(CFRI) at BC Children’s Hospital, and the BC Cancer Research Centre at the BC
Cancer Agency). VCHRI supports and promotes research across Vancouver Coastal
Health.
